How to Run the Interpreter

As a graduate student, you have access to the lab in EE121. You can also use your Bama account or any other machine if you desire, but you are responsible for compiling the interpreters. The following ftp site contains several versions of the interpreter.
ftp://a.cs.uiuc.edu/pub/faculty/kamin/uiuc/kamin.distr
You may encounter problems downloading if your machine doesn't have a DNS entry. I believe this is true for most of the machines in the CS department laboratories.

From a DOS prompt, you can either invoke the apl program to run an interactive session:

    C:\MSC_EXE>apl
    -> (+ 2 3)
    5
    quit
or you can create a file count with the text:
    (+ 2 3)
    quit
If you create files with the function in one file, the test input in another file, and a single file with quit, then you can use IO redirection:
    C:\MSC_EXE>cat count countTests quit | apl
...
